The Axis D2050-VE radar, as previously discussed in the radar detection article, was introduced to detect objects and individuals using electromagnetic waves that calculate distance and, consequently, their location within the monitored perimeter.
The Axis radar functions as a digital perimeter, seamlessly integrating with other IP-based devices, such as cameras, gates, and access control systems.
By utilizing electromagnetic waves, this device enables detection in both bright and dark environments, across various weather and ambient conditions. It can trigger multiple actions based on the location of a person or object.
One of the standout features of this radar is its flexibility in integration with other devices, allowing the sensor to connect with CCTV surveillance cameras and activate them for specific events, trigger audio alerts via IP speakers and horns, or even automate various devices like doors, locks, and turnstiles.
This methodology of flexible integration and open-source development is already embedded in Axis devices, a hallmark of the brand’s reputation for innovation spanning over two decades.

Beyond winning the prestigious Benchmark Awards 2018 in one of its most respected categories, the D2050-VE radar has also been recognized with other accolades, including the ASIS Accolades Award 2017, the Detektor International Award for Best Product, and the SIA 2018 ISC WEST New Product Showcase.
