For those familiar with the competitive landscape of the tech market, they know that it’s not enough to simply develop products for current market adaptation—it’s about staying ahead with innovations and adaptations of original creations to meet new needs.
The Axis, the Swedish leader in video and global network markets, has always prioritized expansion and innovation in its cameras to deliver higher quality and reduced risks in surveillance.
Precisely because of these factors and the company’s innovative DNA, Axis regularly updates its portfolio—whether for equipment improvements or technological advancements to remain competitive in the market.
IP Cameras
The catalog update applies to all Axis products, but due to its extensive size, IPSmart has compiled a list of the most searched IP cameras and their updated models (2018).
Axis M3204 and M3204-V / P3214-V / P3224-V
First, the M3204 was replaced by cameras from the P series, according to Axis. The dome model was updated and unified with the M3204-V, now bearing the “V” suffix in the camera code, indicating vandalism resistance. Later, the P3214-V was updated to the P3224-V, which incorporates Axis’s latest technologies, including Zipstream and Lightfinder.
Axis M3007-P / M3047-P
The panoramic M3007-P, with its discreet design, was updated to the M3047-P, which features a refreshed design and Axis’s latest technologies, such as Zipstream for bandwidth efficiency.
Axis M1011 / M1013 / M1045-LW
These models are ideal for indoor environments and are easy-to-install cameras typically used in small businesses and retail stores. The M1011 was replaced by the M1013, which features a new design, adjustable focus, and a MicroSDHC slot. The M1013 has a recommended substitution (as per Axis) to the M1045-LW, which includes an HDTV lens, wireless connectivity for data transfer to another device, and local storage without needing a MicroSD card. Additionally, the M1045-LW features infrared (IR) illumination.
There are numerous models that have been discontinued and replaced with more modern and effective alternatives. Stay tuned to IPSmart, as we’ll detail these soon.
