When researching the term CCTV, it is commonly found as a reference to security systems for large companies, governments, and public safety. However, the term video monitoring encompasses various businesses, including projects that require permanent or temporary remote monitoring.

The Needs of a Pet Shop

According to a survey conducted in 2017, Brazil is the 4th country with the highest number of pets in the world, including dogs, cats, birds, turtles, etc.

Another survey conducted in 2016 by the University of São Paulo (USP) shows that about 44.3% of Brazilian households have at least one dog, and 17.7% of homes have at least one cat. All these numbers prove that culturally and economically, the country is a suitable place for raising so-called “pets,” and for this reason, pet care and product sales centers known as “pet shops” have increasingly specialized to meet their demands.

Moreover, it is possible to see that spending on pets has increased over the years. A survey conducted by Abinpet (Brazilian Association of the Pet Products Industry) in 2016 shows that the revenue for the year was approximately R$ 19 billion and has been growing annually by about 5%, indicating that pet owners are increasingly concerned about the well-being of their animals.

The increase in spending and the greater concern of pet owners have transformed the pet shop market and consequently other markets such as video monitoring. In 2015, a law was passed requiring all establishments that offer grooming services to provide images from their internal cameras to their clients so they can monitor the entire care process for their animals.

Unique Solutions

To assist pet shop companies in adapting to the law and to generate a competitive edge, we will present some video monitoring solutions that, along with a VMS software or integration with video streaming networks, can transmit high-quality images to the cloud, allowing clients to monitor their animals through smartphones, tablets, etc.

Axis M1045-LW

This camera features Full HD resolution for high-quality image transmission, is designed for indoor environments such as stores and pet shops, and includes a wall-mounting bracket. Additionally, the camera has two unique features: day/night illumination through infrared and wireless connectivity, allowing for quick installation without any connecting wires/cables, which is especially useful in environments with animals that may chew and damage wires.

Axis M2025-LE

The Axis M2025-LE is a small and discreet camera that can be installed in both indoor and outdoor environments, features Full HD resolution, and day/night illumination through infrared. A distinguishing feature of this model is Axis technology, which allows it to be installed in narrow spaces such as hallways and transmit images with a wide range through the rotation of its lens.
