This year, Axis Communications launched two new IP camera models for its professional line. The Q1615-LE Mk II Outdoor Camera and the Q1615 Mk II Indoor Camera both feature several innovative aspects that we will showcase in this article.
When discussing innovation, it is important to highlight the new smart lens technology available with this line of cameras; the Q1615 is the first camera in the world to support the installation of I-CS lenses.
The I-CS series lenses are smart lenses with a focal length of 3.9-10mm. These lenses were developed to allow information exchange with IP cameras, enabling automatic optimization of image quality and drastically reducing the time needed for manual configuration.
Additionally, both the indoor camera and the outdoor version can record in HDTV resolution of 1080p at up to 120fps, allowing for the capture of details in excellent conditions even with moving objects and people.
Another innovation implemented in both models is the embedded learning processing unit and support for third-party deep learning applications, which allows for complex executions of robust analytical software on their system.
Both models feature Lightfinder 2.0 for better performance in dark environments and forensic WDR for monitoring quality in shadowy and brightly lit areas. The Q1615-LE Mk III Camera is resistant to high temperatures of up to 60ºC and low temperatures of up to -40ºC.
