The partnership between Axis Communications and SilliS has long provided great solutions for CCTV Projects, combining quality equipment and service, resulting in cost reduction and less maintenance needs.

This time we will mention a recent case involving this partnership, the modernization of the logistics terminal facilities of Terloc, part of the Cesari Group.

MISSION

The Cesari Group consists of eight companies operating in the segments of transportation and handling of chemical products, terminals for product storage, fertilizer processing, and cleaning and maintenance of containers. One of these companies is the Cesari Logistics Terminal (Terloc), which manages the entry and exit controls and the loading and unloading of all raw materials and finished products from one of the plants.

Base 1 of Terloc, located in the Industrial Hub of Cubatão, São Paulo, decided to improve its services and replace the entire old analog communication system composed of microphones, amplifiers, transformers, and fiber horns - which had extremely high maintenance costs - with VOIP systems. The need to modernize communication in the truck parking area was clear, to guide drivers regarding the circulation of loads.

SOLUTION

“Our technical team knew about the compatibility of SIP technology with PABX extensions, but we lacked the equipment. In this regard, both companies played a fundamental role. The integrator lent us a system for testing and was by our side during the initial installations, providing full support. The field testing phase was decisive in obtaining the board's approval to move the project forward,” recalls Javas Prata, IT analyst at the Cesari Group.

After the testing phase and the confirmation of the equipment's integration capability, eight horns – model AXIS C3003-E – were installed at branch base 11, located in Cubatão, São Paulo state.

FROM ANALOG TO IP TECHNOLOGY

“Due to the high maintenance costs of the analog system, we opted to look for something that would be simpler to manage and maintain by the Terloc technology team,” explains Javas.

Analyzing the costs of the equipment for acquisition is essential, as are the benefits, which are also of utmost importance. What was previously done by 30 analog horns (which cost over R$ 200,000), is now done by 8 IP horns (at a cost 4 times lower).

The surprisingly positive result led to the acquisition of another 8 horns for other areas of the company.

In addition to other models of IP speakers, it is a priority for the group's directors to modernize the company to the IP system from Axis Communications.
