It’s no surprise that we are always tuned in to the launches from Axis Communications, and this time is no different. We are here to showcase the various features of the new Axis P3245-LVE camera for outdoor monitoring, which offers a resolution of 1080p.
Axis Communications
Axis Communications is a Swedish company founded in 1984. It was a pioneer in providing IP video surveillance solutions, launching the world's first network camera in 1996.
Since its inception, Axis has been enhancing and innovating its products and technologies. Each launch presents a unique set of features from the manufacturer, making its solutions stand out from the rest.
Today, it operates in over 50 countries, providing the best equipment for the CCTV market, including Brazil.
P3245-LVE – The Current Favorite
We already know that it is a fixed dome camera ideal for retail environments, banks, and offices; now let’s explore the features that make it perfect for your outdoor video monitoring project.
How Can It Help You with Outdoor Monitoring?
The distance of elements that make up an image and the absence of audio are two factors that often prevent us from distinguishing what is happening in a scene, and to help you with these issues, the new model developed by Axis brings the solution.
The P3245-LVE is a varifocal camera and has two lens options. One lens for monitoring wide areas of 3.4-8.9mm and a telephoto lens for long-distance surveillance of 9-22mm.
Additionally, it also features two-way audio that allows the user to hear what is happening in the scene and add audio analytics from third parties, enabling the detection of aggressive behaviors, for example.
You can also integrate alarm triggering equipment or actions into the camera through its digital input or output. And since the input is supervised, if the connection is cut, an alarm will be sent to the operator.
What Are Its Differentiators?
With a varifocal lens featuring remote zoom and focus capabilities, the model can be adapted for close-ups and wide views without the need for fine manual adjustments.
It is a versatile and discreet camera that is easy to install and operate. Furthermore, the housing can be easily repainted in any color to blend into a specific environment.
It is worth noting its IK10 rating – impact and dust resistance – which is extremely important for outdoor monitoring.
Like the new camera models from the manufacturer, the P3245-LVE features the latest technologies developed by Axis Communications, including Lightfinder 2.0, Forensic WDR, and OptimizedIR.
Each of these technologies adds value to video monitoring. The Axis Lightfinder 2.0 offers greater light sensitivity to capture video with more realistic colors and clear video of moving objects. The Forensic WDR provides high-quality images when there are dark and bright areas in the scene. And OptimizedIR allows surveillance to be conducted in complete darkness.
Another important factor to mention is its advanced security features. Want to know more about them? Let’s go.
Signed Firmware and Secure Boot
Nowadays, cyberattacks are becoming increasingly frequent, and therefore individuals and companies must invest in cybersecurity to ensure their data is not breached, stolen, or even manipulated.
To address this, Axis Communications has developed several advanced security features to keep your system protected, such as firmware that prevents unauthorized access and secure boot that ensures the camera is free from malware if the user alters the factory settings.
It’s important to note that these technologies are compatible with Axis equipment and are often pre-installed at the factory.
Cost Savings for Your CCTV Project
Typically, video files take up a lot of space on your computer's hard drive, which is why you need to compress them. To ensure that bandwidth and storage requirements are reduced safely without losing image quality, the manufacturer developed the Zipstream technology.
This technology can differentiate between important and non-important data in a scene, maintain resolution and frame rate, and store much less while being compatible with most Axis camera models, including the P3245-LVE.
It’s important to emphasize that this technology can also be used in conjunction with other video compression standards, such as H.264 and H.265.
